Mr. Stephen M. Ross, founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Related Companies, L.P. in collaboration with David J. Wine, President of Related Residential Development spearheaded the commission of Metronome for One Union Square South.
In addition to One Union Square South, current developments from The Related Companies, L.P. include luxury rental towers on the Upper East and Upper West sides and Battery Park City North. The Related Companies, L.P. has commenced construction on The Chatham, a new luxury condominium development located on East 65th Street at Third Avenue and will begin the rehabilitation of the historic Guardian Life Building at 50 Union Square located on East 17th Street. In addition the organization, having purchased air rights, has begun construction on a new luxury rental on Broadway between 94th and 95th Streets, platforming over Symphony Space, the Upper West Side's cultural center.
In July 1998, The Related Companies was awarded the Coliseum site at Columbus Circle in Manhattan by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Columbus Centre will have two 750-foot towers rising from an enormous base and will cost approximately $1.3 billion, including land acquisition. Building is slated to commence in late 1999 or early 2000 after the Coliseum is razed.
